But he seemed like such a sensible, straight-laced and rational fella…

DOE spent fuel chief Brinton charged with felony theft in Minnesota

The state of Minnesota has charged the Department of Energy’s recently-hired head of spent nuclear fuel management with felony theft, court documents show.

According to a criminal complaint filed Oct. 27 in Minnesota’s 4th Judicial District Court, Sam Brinton, who began working in June as DOE’s deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposition, is accused of stealing a bag from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport’s baggage claim area in September.

Under Minnesota law, the crime with which Brinton was charged carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.

This… guy:

I wonder how J Edgar’s FBI would have handled this situation.

I’m not the biggest fan of dress codes, but there’s something to be said for having some friggen’ *dignity.* This is the look of the men who got us to the moon:

On the other hand, there may be some small benefit here. “Looks crazy” stands a chance of mapping fairly linearly to “is crazy.”

Oddly, the PBS special “In The Event of Catastrophe” from 1978 is age restricted. Click on it, it’ll take you to YouTube directly. Shrug.

“First Strike” from the RAND Corporation. A docu-drama depicting a Soviet first strike that effectively wipes out America’s nuclear retaliatory capability and leads to the capitulation of the USA. Bits of this were used in “The Day After” a few years later.

This one from the National Film Board of Canada runs kinda light on pointing out that the Commies are setting off the nukes. Instead, the nuclear explosions just sorta happen, some vague result of American actions.

And just for fun, here’s a German 1998 alternate history show (“Der Dritte Weltkrieg”) where 1990 goes a little differently:

A less than one minute video describing the dropoff in quality in art in the Roman Empire. Some of it was due to cultural changes, but there was also a distinct drop in quality during times of crisis. It was especially bad during the collapse of the Western Roman Empire.

If you want to draw parallels to the situation described HERE, I won’t stop you.

“Locked doors” are important things to be aware of if you are planning on stealing… both when to avoid them and when to embrace them. But if you’re a shoplifter, chances are you’re not too bright, and simple observations and basic planning for the future are likely outside of your skillset. Witness these oxygen thieves in action:

This example of societal decay brought to you by the letter D.

The policies that the British government have enacted over recent years of allowing the mass invasion of Britain are, it seems, finally getting the British citizens mad enough to, maybe, do something about it. Britain seems to have a number of problems, including but not limited to:

1) Their National Health Service provide free health care to everyone… including the “migrants.” But the “migrants” aren’t funding new hospitals or more doctors; they’re just consuming the available resources.

2) The “migrants” aren’t building new housing; they’re simply being *given* housing. Houses, apartments, hotel rooms are disappearing from the market and being filled with, mostly, military age males from antagonistic nations.

3) The utilities, from electricity to natural gas to the water and sewers were built assuming the British population… not the British population PLUS an occupying foreign force.

The answer is obvious: first, prevent new “migrants” from landing; second, mass deportations. None of this is likely to occur. Why is the British government doing this to the British people? Fark if I know. The only explanations that seem to make any sort of sense sound a whole lot like conspiracy theories. But reality is what it is.

Asylum seekers to be sent to rural areas for fairer distribution of migrants

Here’s a thought… take a few hundred thousand of the military age migrant, give each of them an AK-47 and two magazines, and drop them off in Luhansk. Wacky hijinks ensue.

Alex Stein took his show on the road to mock armed Antifa LARPER whackos to their faces. The one thing I wish he’d done is zoom in on their firearms and try to obtain serial numbers. Not because there’d be anything to do with that data, really, but the effort of obtaining it would likely freak out these little weirdos.

‘Nation’s Report Card’ says math and reading scores plummeted during the pandemic, showing Covid’s devastating toll on students

Covid should not get all the blame. There is blame enough to share with the politicians and bureaucrats.

And on the subject of getting dumber:

Dallas shooter was attending birth at hospital

A guy shot and murdered two nurses. That’s bad enough, but where this goes from a news story about “crazy” and “crime” to one about “stupidity” is this:

Nestor Hernandez was granted leave to be with his “significant other” at Methodist Dallas Medical Center during her delivery Saturday, according to Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokeswoman Amanda Hernandez. She said he’d been sentenced to prison for aggravated robbery and was released on parole last October, but did not provide additional details on the circumstances of the shooting.

According to THIS STORY, in 2015 he assaulted, injured and robbed a woman, leading to a meager 8-year sentence. that means he should still be in prison, not to be released until 2023 sometime. But someone thought this absolute *winner* should be allowed out and about, and he was released on parole in October (presumably 2021, since it says “last” October). Had he still been in prison, not only would these two nurses still be alive, but there would have been no birth to attend to. Now the state will be saddled with this guys offspring, with every likelihood that the kid will end up just as bad.

Hey, here’s a thought: keep criminals locked up. Especially violent ones And more especially the ones with tattoos that proudly proclaim “I will never be a benefit to society.”

Stacey Abrams, failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate trying again, has an interesting solution to the economic crisis: kill the children. They cost money, you see. If you didn’t have your kids, you could better afford gas and food and rent and such. Says so at about 4:23:

This is the person that the knavish dullards behind “Star Trek Discovery” chose to portray as the President of Earth. Ironic given that she is basically advocating for human – or at least Western – extinction. It seems more likely to me by far that she is working for outside forces – whether China, Klingons or the Chaos Gods – to depopulate at least the United States, to clear it out with minimal fuss so it can be colonized by someone else.
