I’m sure there’s a word for this: political ideologues turning on one of their own who does not show sufficient zealotry in all the right fields of popular fanaticism.

Wil Wheaton Has a Listening Problem

Wil Weaton, actor, nerd, far left fanatic, has suddenly become a target of the SJWs. He has committed at least two sins, by the article linked above:

1) He was on Twitter but bailed a month ago because he couldn’t stand that Twitter had not yet censored Alex Jones (there are lots of good reason to avoid Twitter, but the fact that they allow offensive goofballs to say their piece seems an odd one). So he was also on Mastodon (full disclosure: I’ve no idea what that is, but assume it’s akin to Twitter) and, like a good little Leftist, could not bear to be exposed to opposing views, specifically in the realm of “Gamergate.” So he signed up for a list that would block certain addresses. The problem here is that while the list was originally ideologically pure, over time the woman controlling the list has added a lot of “trans” people. Why? because she’s a “TERF,” a “Trans Exclusionary Reactionary Feminist.” If you have not heard of TERFs, they are sort of the Final Boss of  Intersectionality… they are the feminists so hateful of anyone not what they consider women, they can’t stand “trans women.” So it turned out that Wil Wheaton had (unknowingly) blocked a lot of trans women… a damnable mortal sin by the measure of most non-TERF SJWs.

2) He was a friend of Chris Hardwick. Simply having once been Hardwicks friend was doubtless enough to get him on The List of many an SJW once Hardwick was accused of bad behavior by a woman he had dated. But Wheaton ratcheted up the Pure Evil by not immediately throwing Hardwick under the bus and disavowing him. The fact that AMCs investigation of Hardwick apparently turned up nothing, and that no evidence against Hardwick seems to have come to light and a lot of evidence in his favor, and a number of his former girlfriends/wives, have come out in support of him, is not enough to get Wheaton off the hook. He did not instantly turn on a guy who was accused of something, so Wheaton is by SJW logic a villain.

Keep it up, SJWs! Keep purging the impure. Good luck, we’re all counting on you!

On the one hand: This is funny, because you know it’s true.

On the other hand: this is distinctly *not* funny, because you know it’s true and the “logic” behind it can and will be used to try to harm, scam, beat down good people of decent character.

On the gripping hand: the more this type of thing is over-used, and the more white people recognize it, the less white people will come to care about being accused of racism. And that again gives a “one hand/other hand” split:

1: Bad news for society because *actual* racists will be able to be more open with doing actual racist things

2: Good for society because it may lead to a shedding of needless guilt

While this makes entirely too much sense, it will no doubt cause a lot of peple who are already none too damn sane to lose what little remains of their minds:

Justice Department: Use ‘illegal aliens,’ not ‘undocumented’

The Justice Department has instructed US attorneys offices not to use the term “undocumented” immigrants and instead refer to someone illegally in the US as “an illegal alien,” …

“The word ‘undocumented’ is not based in US code and should not be used to describe someone’s illegal presence in the country,”

Please, PLEASE… someone convince the DNC  to use the same talent that made sure Hillary their nominee last time to make sure Maxine Waters is their nominee in 2020. The election season will be EPIC.

Maxine Waters supporters burn American flag outside California rep’s office

The photographs with the article (and in THIS article) are iconic.

What happened: the “Oath Keepers” had said that they were going to go to Rep. Waters’ office to protest *her.* Around 100 “counter protestors” showed up in advance and the Oath Keepers, apparently in communication with the police tasked with keeping the peace, decided to *not* show up. But the counter protestors couldn’t let an opportunity to express their hate go to waste, so they (apparently) stole an American flag from a nearby pickup truck, doused it with lighter fluid that they just happened to have on hand (and who among us can say they don’t walk around with canisters of volatile flammable fluids when they are planning on attending political functions?), set it on fire, stomped on it, chanted anti-American slogans and basically filmed Donald Trumps next campaign ad for him.

Now, I don’t know if the Oath Keepers bailed at the request of the cops, or if they bailed because they couldn’t gin up enough internal support, or what. But I’d *like* to think that at least a few of their leaders have finally figured out how politicking is done in this new era: trolling. Whether they planned this in advance or not, they and other non-leftist organizations should learn from it and use the lesson. In the future, announce you’re going to go protest XYZ. And then… sometimes show up, sometimes not. Perhaps keep an eye on the place and if it looks like you are massively outnumbered, don’t show up. Let the other side have the day.  And let them make fools of themselves in front of a thousand cameras. If you not showing up is enough to make the other side decide to burn the American flag… your job is DONE.

Bath University under fire for barring these three words from lectures and tutorials

The phrase “as you know” is banned (well, it’s not clear that it has actually been banned… seems more like such a ban is the desire of members of the Junior Totalitarian League) because some students are not only ignorant boobs they are apparently also weak and fragile and incapable of surviving being told that they aught to already know something.

The University of Bath also produced this insanely whiny video about the importance of dropping down to the level of snowflakes. Examples of Very Bad Things include a French language lesson that includes the phrase “The women will be getting together the 6th of July” and then questioning, True or False, whether this was in the summer. The Snowflake Conundrum is… but what about an Argentinian student? For that student from the southern hemisphere, July is in winter. And so this globe trotting exchange student who has found him/her/it/zim/xer/floople/self in Britain apparently purely by chance and without the slightest bit of knowledge of Britain or the northern hemisphere will be utterly flummoxed by the question and could suffer permanent emotional scarring. Also includes complaints from students that in this British university located in Britain, they’ve only had teachers who were white. Students also complain of finding it difficult to find books in the library on African Studies and postcolonial theory. Suggestions include jamming discussions of gender, race and sexuality into the course work.

That latter one intrigues me.

“Q: The rocket engine has a specific impulse of 310 seconds. The initial mass of the vehicle is 15,000 kilograms. The burnout mass is 1,200 kilograms. How does this make Tony feel about post-colonialism?”

“Q: Civic planners need a bridge across the river Thames. Should they build it from cast iron, stainless steel, or critical race theory?”

“Q: A blue hypergiant with a mass of 1,350 Sols goes supernova. In the process, 50% of its mass is expelled in the form of a planetary nebula. The remainder is compressed to a diameter of 10,000 kilometers. Will this stabilize as a neutron star, continue to collapse into a black hole, or is there a more culturally sensitive way to make the star feel better about itself than to apply arbitrary othering labels?”

“Q: On December 7, 1941, the Imperial Japanese Navy launched an attack on Pearl Harbor. In 10,000 words or more, describe how this attack was a justifiable response to American colonialism, whether furry culture should be celebrated, or whether you are a racist.”

So yesterday Chicago went all protesty because the cops shot a feller dead. The protest included the usual: ballistic bottles, screaming, rocks, major automotive arteries shut down.

Violent protests in Chicago after man shot dead by police

But then…

Chicago police: Video shows man killed by officer was armed

The video *blatantly* shows that the guy not only had a pistol on him, but was reaching for it. On the one hand: wearing a pistol is every Americans Odin-given right. On the other hand: you shouldn’t act the fool around cops. On the gripping hand: acting the fool while armed is FRICKEN’ STOOOOPID.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I’m curious to see if the protests will continue.

So the Democratic voters in the Bronx have decided to just go right past the standard Democrats and instead nominate the the outright Socialists.

It’s important to recognize just what Socialism is. In recent years there has been a concerted effort to soften the image of the term, to make it synonymous with “welfare state,” or “nanny state,” or Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, being nice to illegal immigrants, throwing open the doors of the prisons, hamstringing the cops. But that’s NOT what Socialism is. Let’s be clear:

a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

In other words: “the government owns the factories and the farms.” And the auto repair places, the electronics stores, the grocery stores, Starbucks, Google, Amazon, FaceBook, McDonalds, PornHub. It should be sobering to any reasonable mind to realize that, economically, fascism is less awful than Socialism. Fascists at least let you make and sell your own stuff. Mostly.

Claims that there are many forms of socialism, some that focus on “social justice” rather than Takin’ yer Stuff, make about as much sense as someone claiming that there is a nice fluffybunny form of Nazism that you shouldn’t be afraid of, it’s only about marching bands and cool uniforms, none of that world conquest stuff, nosiree.

If they vote for the Socialist, those New Yorkers will have voted to institute the economic miracle of Cuba, of Venezuela, of the Holodomor.

But as monumentally bad as Socialism clearly is… here we are.

Millennials would rather live in socialist or communist nation than under capitalism

If the GOP is smart (and how long has it been since that was a safe assumption?), they would lead a nationwide effort to teach the electorate just what Socialism really is, what it really means, what it really leads to. And then let the Socialists the Dems nominate speak for themselves. Because if it’s fair for the left wing to tar the right with the brand of “Nazi” because there are some loons on the right who think the Nazis were just neato, it’s just as fair to tar the left with the Socialist brush.

But since that would require the GOP to be smart, competent and actually interested in defeating Socialism, here instead are some funny memes so we can at least have a little chuckle as the ship goes under:
