This is kinda neat… an acrylic display stand for the Space Station V model I mastered for Fantastic Plastic:

This beautiful acrylic display stand was created especially for our 2001 Space Station V kit by Marco Scheloske. It consists of five laser-cut acrylic pieces and includes engraving. Marco is selling the kit directly for 19.50 Euros + shipping. (Yes, he ships internationally.) For more information or to order your stand, email Marco at technomania@gmx.de.

The engines now are physically connected to the ship. The connections might not be precisely accurate, but this should be pretty good, and will allow the engines to be positioned for landing, flight or anywhere in between. The landing gear will be provided in either landing or flight configuration, however… trying to come up with cost-effective landing gear that could do double duty and withstand the weight of the model sitting on it would be probably impossible.

Two new kits have been confirmed for Fantastic Plastic:

1/144 scale SR-72 (early stab at the CAD model HERE)

1/48 scale Manned orbiting Laboratory

The SR-72 will very likely be available first, and relatively soon. The MOL is being designed for lightness… shells rather than a giant solid club of resin. This will let modelers build it either stock, or more ambitious modelers could give it any of a number of interiors. The MOL will also come with a special display stand (not yet designed… I’m interested in suggestions).

Work continues on the Prometheus. Fargin’ complex.
