As a general rule I’ve no interest in watching “childrens” YouTube channels. But this one is just a little bit different… the child in question is being raised by parents who are raising her well. If more parents did this, it’d be a better and safer world, not to mention far less crazy.
I was initially intrigued. But then the truly unusual feature was described, and now I *really* want to see what sort of pattern this shotgun produces.
Defense Distributed Launches The “Netflix of Guns”
In short, if you are in the US you can access a number of downloadable files for 3D printable firearms.
While I would avoid any such weapon like the plague in favor of properly manufactured firearms made from *good* materials, having this system in place and recognized as legal is a good first step towards the day when any American can download and print a *good* firearm without having to deal with governmental BS. As has been pointed out from time to time, many people want gun laws to be similar to automobile laws. And there are precisely zero laws against making your own automobile at home. Granted a car is *way* bigger than most firearms…
The sci-fi dream is a general replicator, such as from Star Trek. Trek replicators use magic transporter technology, but the basic idea of a machine that builds up anything from drugs or hamburgers to pistols from raw materials is a valid one.
All those self-important publicity-hounds cranking out insipid selfies and ridiculous little videos… if you want to produce something of actual value, try something like this:
The Governor of Illinois closed down the state Saturday, banning a whole bunch of things and shut down a bunch of businesses. But the order, which can be read HERE, explicitly exempts a number of vital functions and businesses. Grocery stores, pharmacies, banks… stuff that you’d expect. But the Democrat governor of a whoppingly anti-Second Amendment state *also* exempted something rather remarkable:
Supplies for Essential Businesses and Operations. Businesses that sell, manufacture, or supply other Essential Businesses and Operationswith the support or materialsnecessary to operate, including computers, audio and video electronics, household appliances; IT and telecommunication equipment; hardware, paint, flat glass; electrical, plumbing and heating material; sanitary equipment; personal hygiene products;food, food additives, ingredients and components; medical and orthopedic equipment; optics and photography equipment; diagnostics, food and beverages, chemicals, soaps and detergent;and firearm and ammunition suppliers and retailers for purposes of safety and security;
Funny. When the fit hits the shan, even the lefties realize that they might need to defend themselves.
Exactly how this order is to be enforced is left as an exercise for the student, though it says this:
Enforcement. This Executive Ordermay be enforced by State and local law enforcement pursuant to, inter alia, Section7, Section18,and Section 19 of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act, 20 ILCS 3305.
Something to note here: Stockboys are officially recognized as “essential,” since grocery stores are essential. Oddly, I see nothing in there recognizing the same for actors or musicians. Hell, even the pot dealers are “essential.”
Too bad it wasn’t shooting down the enemy, but instead shooting up its comrades:

If you’ve been waiting your whole life to see high-speed, high-def footage taken from a racing drone as if flies under, above, alongside and sometimes *through* the flames from a flamethrower… well, here ya go.
Yow.
And, yes, flamethrowers are legal in the US. Some states have laws against them, but, perhaps oddly, the federal government does not. Sure, the ATF will squat on your head if you have a machinegun or a grenade launcher, but a flame thrower? Pfff. Don’t worry about it.
So… is he lying, or is it the dementia?
