So, how’s my health doing? Consider that I ran my ass to the doctor again today and that they had to wheel me in in a wheelchair because I underwent some sort of lung-based freakout while trying to get signed in. I don’t know how it looked to bystanders, but I can assure you have having your lungs rapidly cease to function at the same time you are basically *barking* with increased volume and panic just doesn’t feel that awesome. There were other people standing about; while I didn’t really pay ’em much  mind (being more focused on simply trying to draw a breath), I think I did see ’em backing off. I’m pretty sure it looked like the start of your average Apocalyptic Outbreak, with some scruffy guy starting to do the Zombie Flop. “Yes, it’s the Apocalypse, alright. I always knew I’d have a hand in it.

The doc witnessed the *second* of these episodes in the exam room, and said that it looked like “croup” which I gather is a childhood ailment.

This doc thinks that I didn’t have the usual bacterial bronchitis, but instead viral, probably layered on top of some flu variant, thus explaining some of the other symptoms such as the complete loss of appetite. A chest Xray showed everything looks absolutely fine… no fluid buildup, no structural damage, no tumors, no brain clouds, no chestbursters. Blood oxygen levels were 93, which I’m informed is quite good… this coming mere moments after my lungs had stopped functioning. So I can’t explain that at *all*.

Good news, I suppose: between the last time I visited the doc on the 27th and today, I’ve lost 12 pounds. So…. huzzah, I imagine. Oh, and my new insurance apparently works.

In lieu of normal blogification, please to enjoy:

I hate to go there, but one of the difficult-to-foresee downsides to having lung troubles like this is that the ability to accomplish pretty much *anything* is wiped out. I was lucky in that USBP05 and a few adocs and sdocs were just about ready to go, so I have made a bit of income… but the other things I’ve needed to work of have been stymied. So if you’ve got spare cash lying around, feel free to buy my stuff. Or feel free to spent ridiculous amounts on consumer electronics at Amazon, after first searching for your items on the Amazon search box on my website/blog. Or… just donate, if you’re into such things. Think of it as donating to the cats, what with dollars being a fungible commodity…
