Whackaloons have been going after “Harry Potter” author JK Rowling for a while. While she seems to have a reliably left-wing bent, the fact that she’s heretical on the fact that men and women are not interchangeable leads to a whole lot of hate headed her way. But she’s rich enough to not care at this point:

So, a bunch of Texas Democrats abandoned their posts as a way to subvert the democratic process, since they don’t like the idea of voting having any of the sort of restrictions that, say, buying a gun might. But as if that wasn’t lame enough, they had to go and add a little something special to their cowardly and anti-democratic actions:

Three Texas Democrats who fled to Washington, D.C. test positive for coronavirus

That’s a damned shame. Hope they don’t get struck by lightning too.

So they not only don’t want to follow the Constitution, they don’t want to follow the science.

These shows are, in retrospect, kinda silly (and often rather cringy… acting, stories, ham-fisted plotting, cardboard villains, over-reliance on stock footage, etc.). But the theme songs… they kick ass. Fight me.

Yeah, the 80’s weren’t perfect. But I dare you to suggest that any decade before or since has or will have such a plethora of pop culture monsters.

Honorable mention: missed it by 2 years.

UP temporarily stopping eastbound container service to Chicago

Union Pacific is temporarily suspending eastbound service from West Coast port terminals to its Global IV intermodal facility in Chicago to help ease “significant congestion” at inland terminals, especially Chicago, and at the ports. The suspension is aimed at helping ocean carriers reduce backlogs.

Stopping traffic eastbound to ease congestion on west coast ports? Yeah, that doesn’t make any sense to me, either. *Maybe* they mean that trains that otherwise would have taken the long road to Chicago are now going to spend their days on much shorter routes, thus hauling more stuff away from the ports faster. The stuff will just stack up at inland locations, though.

Perhaps the trains are just hauling containers *near* Chicago. There to offload them, fill them with rubble and debris, and build a wall around Cook County.
