After going to the edge of space, Bezos decided that the thing to do was to give a hundred million dollars to a got-dayumed Marxist shill:

After returning from space flight, Jeff Bezos donates $100M each to chef José Andrés and Van Jones

People will argue that “Jones was a Marxist when he was young, but he’s not a Marxist *now*.” That’s like saying “he was a murderer when he was young, but he’s not one now.”

There are *millions* of people better suited to decide what to do with such a windfall. Jones is already worth $5 million; let him spent his own money on his charities. I wonder if Bezos is trying to buy good PR from CNN.

India’s Covid-19 Death Toll Is Likely in the Millions, Study Finds

Researchers estimated number of fatalities caused by the disease at about four million, which would be 10 times the official count

Assuming this finding is true, there are two immediate takeaways:

  1. The Indian government has apparently been hiding the true scope of the problem. Probably won’t go well for them.
  2. China was not India’s favorite country *before* this. Can’t imagine Chinese shenanigans killing four-plus million Indians is going to be a PR victory for Winnie the Commie.

Full transparency: I visited Blue Origins office in Seattle a while back and dropped off my resume, aiming to be a conceptual designer. That was… 2003, I think? I’m sure they’ll get back to me on that any day now.

Anyway, tomorrow (Tuesday) morning the plan is for Jeff Bezos and three other passengers to ride the New Shepard rocket to the edge of space at 6:30 AM central time.

The worldwreckers have done a job and a half the last year and a half. South Africa is showing the way of the future, where Antifa and their ilk gain prominence and power.

One thing that always bothered me about “preppers:” a somewhat naive belief that knowing how to farm – raise crops and animals – would mean they’d be able to farm. Be *allowed* to farm. Recent events show that farms will simply be raided. Animals will be taken and slaughtered with no regard for leaving breeding stock; seed grain will be hauled away. if the farmer survives, his equipment will be pilfered, his buildings trashed, his animals and seeds vanished or destroyed on the spot. Good luck trying to farm in a wasteland populated by hungry savages who have probably moved on to cannibalism.
