Includes basic data (including thrust/time curves) and illustrations. Curiously absent are prices and whether or not they take PayPal or Bitcoin. And what’s the shipping cost of, say, a dozen SLS boosters to my island volcano lair?

Nope.
The summary here is that shipping costs are higher, leading to an increase in the cost and decrease in the availability of toys, just in time for Christmas. How much of a change are we dealing with? Wellllll…
On July 1, the Drewry World Container Index reported the average price for shipping a 40-foot container of cargo by sea costs about $8,400, up 346% compared to this time last year.
Shipping a container from Shanghai to Los Angeles costs more than $9,100, a change of more than 272% from last year.
Gosh, that’s too bad. Cheap crap that enriches the Chinese Communist Party is getting more expensive? Whatever shall we do?
Hey, here’s a thought: maybe the United States could, and I’m just spitballing here… actually MAKE STUFF AGAIN?
It’s not just an idea for toys. We rely *far* too much on China for prit near everything. When the Chinese decide to conquer Taiwan and trans-Pacific comes to a grinding halt, it won’t just be Pokemon cards and model kits that we’ll run short of, it’ll be tools and computers and medicine.
Ummmm…
This was supposed to be out a year ago, now it will (hopefully) be out for Thanksgiving. It looks pretty promising to me… this trailer makes it look slapstick-free, a straight-up drama/horror. Obviously, that’s not how it’ll end up playing out, but this approach is interesting.
San Francisco region, so for any other victim, this likely would not be considered a “crime.” Whether it will be here, given the political nature of the victim, remains to be seen. And then there’s this line:
There was no suspect description available.
Someone strong-armed a former Senator in broad daylight, and nobody knows what the assailant looks like? My ass.
Some might consider this very brief video (at the link) to be NSFW, but all it actually shows is a de-brancher in a logging operation. With bonus googly eyes and arms.
People are debating whether this is on the up-and-up, or whether it’s a troll operation of some kind. Either way, it’s fairly hilarious.
Talk is not enough. Commit yourself towards taking action and making sacrifices to correct centuries of injustice. Open up spaces for Black and LatinX communities by refusing to send your kids to Ivy League and US News & World Report Top 50 schools and encourage friends, neighbors, and family members to do the same.
On the one hand, conning gullible wokies is always good for a lark. On the other hand, it’s their kids who would theoretically suffer. On the gripping hand, wokies abandoning the more expensive universities in favor of “underpriveledged” will lead to the “underpriveledged” getting burdened with *extraordinary* levels of student debt, coupled with either degrees of no particular value, or a failure to attain degrees because expensive educations tend to be difficult and demanding ones.
It might be interesting to see if anyone signs up, if the website actually publishes names, and if anyone carries through.
Not to be outdone, rains in India apparently precipitated a rockfall in the mountains. The rocks clobbered and destroyed a pretty sizable pedestrian bridge. Nine were reportedly killed in the rockfall, though it doesn’t immediately look like anyone was on the bridge at the time. The area affected by the rock fall was pretty vast, though.
