For basically all my life, astronauts in space have looked at Earth through the side window. This photo from the recent Falcon 9 launch of the “DISCOVR” spacecraft shows what I hope will soon be the new way astronauts see Earth: in the rear view window. Via Elon Musks Twitter.

New Horizons can see Pluto and Charon orbiting each other. Note that Pluto “wobbles;” this is due to the fact that Charon is fully 1/8 the mass of Pluto, thus the center of gravity of the system is not the center of Pluto… in fact it’s above the surface of Pluto.

When the time comes to take down the evil that is cheaply manufactured Chinese consumer goods… the US Navy will stand ready.
I’m not what you’d call a big fan of those Disney “princess movies.” I’m a little behind on watching them… haven’t quite caught “The Little Mermaid” yet, so I guess I’m a little lacking in some of the cultural references. But if these clips are representative, “Frozen” looks like it was a more mature movie than I’d been led to believe!
Sure it’s just fan art… but I would so watch the hell out of this movie:
