Nationally, it’s been one of the warmest winters on record
If you watch the national news, you might get the sense that this has been a horribly cold and snowy winter. And for a geographically limited region, it has been. Sadly, that region is the region around New York City, which controls much of the news media, and thus the narrative. But the reality is that for much of the US, this winter has been astonishingly un-winterlike.
The U.S. is having its sixth-warmest winter on record, according to data from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), which has records back to 1895. … So far this month, there have been 4,074 records set for warm temperatures —- mostly in the West — and only 236 records for cold temperatures, the NCDC reported.
What we have here is the ATV cargo vehicle using it’s thrusters to separate from the ISS in preparation for re-entry. Interesting vid in general; in particular for showing what rocket plumes look like in space. Take note, Hollywood.
