stochastic terrorism

[ stuhkas-tik teruh-riz-uhm ]

noun
the public demonization of a person or group resulting in the incitement of a violent act, which is statistically probable but whose specifics cannot be predicted: The lone-wolf attack was apparently influenced by the rhetoric of stochastic terrorism.
Examples:

Of course, this is not new. Violence has been occurring for several years, egged on by politicians and activists. Antifa and their culture-destroying depredations may not be in the news as much as they were a few years ago when they were the shock troops of the Left, but they’re still out there carrying out acts of violence upon the regular citizenry.

Huh.

Utica Sculpture Residency Vandals Are Under the Age of 11, Police Say

Five Mostly Peaceful Vandals aged 8 to 11 pretty effectively trashed an upstate New York art… place. Workship. Studio. Collective. Whatever. The photos in that and an earlier article make it clear these little monsters were on a mission of destruction. The artists have set up a “gofundme” type thing to help rebuild, with a goal of $75,000. Seems to me the kids families should be the immediate go-to for reimbursement. According to the funding campaign, damage includes:

  • All windows, interior and exterior, have been smashed
  • The entire office along with accompanying communication and computer equipment, important archival documents and information, and furniture have been severely damaged and destroyed
  • The entire kitchen, kitchenware, and equipment were smashed and spread throughout the studio area
  • The bathrooms and hallway were flooded and damaged
  • Several donated art pieces for CHAIRity have been partially damaged or completely destroyed
  • Furniture and storage units throughout were destroyed or rendered useless
  • Camera and video technologies have been smashed and destroyed
  • Lighting was busted or smashed
  • Multiple bicycles for use by artists-in-residence were stolen

Kids these days. I look forward to the exciting and innovative excuses that will be made for them.

I know a lot of modern art sucks and often resembles actual garbage more than art, but come on.

So… people who didn’t go into debt getting unaffordable degrees in subjects they knew wouldn’t have a good rate of return will get bailed out by poor people who couldn’t afford college in the first place. Got it. This will incentivize not only academically useless students to take academically useless courses pursuing economically ridiculous degrees, it will incentivize colleges and universities to jack up their rates, because now Uncle Sam will be thoughtlessly paying the schools *even* *more.* This will make a higher education even more expensive to pursue, and more out of reach for those who aren’t rich.

The Dems hate you. They hate us all.

I approve of how this small business owner handled this. Of course, this wouldn’t work in all cases; in the case of multiple thieves, you’re putting your life at risk confronting them. But if you can do so reasonably safely, especially if you have backup… then the more of this that happens, the less of this will *need* to happen.

@itssophiamilan

The cops also found $300 worth of banana republic, stuff from target, and Adam and Eve….Don’t steal from small businesses like mine okay?! #fyp #thief #ftb #womenownedbusiness #karma #iknowilookamess #htx #houston #houstontx #montrose #montrosehouston

Do you want to see the *dumbest* approach to math you’ll see today? If so, behold this presentation from the University of Michigan:

http://www.math.lsa.umich.edu/~glarose/dept/teaching/resources/RehumanizingMathematicsSlides.pdf

If that link doesn’t work, the Wayback Machine can hook you up:

https://web.archive.org/web/20210124223803/http://www.math.lsa.umich.edu/~glarose/dept/teaching/resources/RehumanizingMathematicsSlides.pdf

This presentation is on the topic of “Rehumanizing Mathematics” by one Rochelle Gutiérrez. Right from the get-go you can tell it’s stupid… if there’s one thing mathematics is *not* it’s “humanized.” Math doesn’t care about your feelings. Nor your politics, religion, ethnicity, family history, gender or any other kind of identity. 1+1=2 no matter your beliefs on the matter. 1+1=2 even if you are *dead,* or you are a parrot, or a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri, or a godlike entity from beyond the Antares maelstrom. And yet…

1. How we think/talk about our work matters
• Diversity (attention to difference, also used when no difference, often ignores history, no attention to positionality)
• Equity (often highlights universal approaches, closing achievement gaps, leaky STEM pipelines)
• Inclusion (tolerate, allow, participate on own terms, focus on individuals, understand exclusion)
• Centering historically oppressed (place at the core, dedicate resources and energy there, requires political clarity)

Ummm… no.

If you ever wonder why our infrastructure is falling apart and we can’t seem to do Great Things anymore… well, here ya go.

If you *really* want to burn off some excess brain cells and don’t have the funds for a few gallons of white lightning, watching this video will probably help. It’s about an hour of the person responsible for the above presentation. I can’t *really* say what all’s in it, as I only got a few seconds in before my Brain Worms alarm went off: “I just want to start by acknowledging that as a white settler nation we are standing on stolen grounds…” Blah, blah, virtue signal blah. What do you want to bet she happily collects those white settler dollars?

Also: anyone else get a distinct AOC vibe from her voice? Yeah, that’s not a compliment.

And here’s an idea. if you believe that this is a “white settler nation” *and* that that’s a bad thing…

You want food deserts? because this is how you get food deserts. Every store in a ten block radius that sells food or medical supplies should shut down until 90% of the people on camera here are arrested, charged, convicted and sentenced to a term of at least several years… or are “otherwise dealt with.” It’s up to the community to police themselves now that the police have been defunded and the prosecutors are “progressive.”

If you act like you’re in the third world… you’ll end up getting treated like you’re in the third world.

WHO plans to rename monkeypox over stigmatization concerns

Hey, here’s a thought: rather than renaming the disease, how about you tell people in important risk categories to stop being dumbasses and keep it in their pants for a month or two?

Oh, hey, and more good news:

Poliovirus detected in wastewater samples in New York City, health officials say

Anybody else remember when polio was one of them “old timey” diseases that nobody got anymore? Good times.

One “Angel Guice” decided to be a jerk during a minor traffic stop. The cop gave her repeated opportunities to sign the ticket (for being in a park after closing) and she refused each time. When the opportunities ran out, after having been told that her refusal to sign would lead to her arrest, she feigned confusion as to why she was being arrested, screaming and hollering like a friggen’ toddler. If anyone ever merited a taserin’ it’s right here. The bad acting is phenomenal.

She converted a simple ticket into physical pain and charges with jail time. But I fully expect that Grievance Lawyers will come out and start demanding big payouts for how “unfairly” she was treated.

It’s entitled ignorant people like this who are tearing society down, one outburst at a time. But at least they provide some entertaining video for the ride down.
