And this was *Texas.*

How much did Mom, Dad and the taxpayers have to pay to send these lunatics to university?

Europe’s largest nuclear power plant on fire after Russian attack

A spokesman for Europe’s largest nuclear plant says the facility is on fire after Russia attacked the power station in the southern Ukrainian city of Enerhodar.

“We demand that they stop the heavy weapons fire,” Andriy Tuz, spokesperson for the plant in Enerhodar, said in a video posted on Telegram. “There is a real threat of nuclear danger in the biggest atomic energy station in Europe.” Tuz told Ukrainian television that it is urgent to stop the fighting to put out the flames.

From the AP:

Firefighters cannot get near the fire because they are being shot at, Tuz said.

A government official told The Associated Press that elevated levels of radiation were detected near the site of the plant, which provides about 25% of Ukraine’s power generation. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the information has not yet been publicly released.

This map might prove useful:

https://www.windfinder.com/#5/47.0252/47.3730

Shows current wind directions. At the moment, the winds in the region of the reactor under attack are circling around a region in north-eastern Ukraine, then seemingly drifting south-east over Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran. If the reactor pops, the Caspian Sea is likely to get trashed. Tomorrow the wins is to be more generally easterly, but Saturday the wind will come down from the north and then hang a right straight over Greece. From then on it looks like the region of Greece and Turkey will get a constant flow from the area of the reactor.

Putin puts nuclear forces on high alert, escalating tensions

The invasion of the Ukraine doesn’t seem to be the overnight success I suspect Putin figured it would be. So now I have to wonder if he’s thinking of turning the place to ash on his way out. The rest of Europe and the US may also be in the crosshairs. This would do Russia no good, of course. Nobody would benefit from Russia getting nutty with their nukes.

Except…

I wonder if the Chinese Communists would like to be the unopposed barbarian warlords sitting atop a radioactive pile of skulls? Somehow I suspect that they wouldn’t mind a crappy standard of living if *they* were in charge of the whole planet, trashed though it may be.

Fortunately, the United States Government is here to help:

https://www.ready.gov/nuclear-explosion

GET INSIDE

Get inside the nearest building to avoid radiation. Brick or concrete are best.

Remove contaminated clothing and wipe off or wash unprotected skin if you were outside after the fallout arrived. Hand sanitizer does not protect against fall out. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, if possible. Do not use disinfectant wipes on your skin.

Go to the basement or middle of the building. Stay away from the outer walls and roof. Try to maintain a distance of at least six feet between yourself and people who are not part of your household. If possible, wear a mask if you’re sheltering with people who are not a part of your household. Children under two years old, people who have trouble breathing, and those who are unable to remove masks on their own should not wear them.

Ahem. In the event a nuclear ᚠᚪᛣᚳᛁᚾᚷ bomb goes off near you, what you really need to worry about is social distancing. Not getting flash-fried or marinated in fallout.

And in the event of a major disaster, there are a number of things you should have at hand. But it’s curious that this government website seems to have forgotten a few:

Curiously only two references to “firearm” on the whole site:

A few days ago Amazon plopped one of the most cringe-worthy videos I’ve ever seen onto YouTube. It *claimed* to be a video of four “superfans” of The Lord of the Rings reacting to the new trailer for “The Rings of Power,” and it was just astonishingly painful to watch. Basically they are everything wrong with modern woke corporate “fandom,” demonstrating a lack of understanding just what the frak Tolkein was on about in favor of unhinged “influencer” nonsense. These four Brits exemplify the soy-boy, alphabet-people hipster cliches, with one “guy” hoping that Sauron will appear in the series and be “hot” so he can dream about “fixing him.” You can *smell* their parents disappointment through the screen.

If you *must* watch it, here is:

Lest you think that Amazon UK just happened to randomly stumble across the four least credible, least serious fans of Tolkein, it turns out that Amazon did the same nonsense for several other countries. The *same* nonsense.

Despite the scripted, woke nature of this “round table” of genetic defectives, some important truths slipped out. The four UK “superfans” consist of one seemingly ethnically British person and three non-ethnic-Brits; a seemingly unlikely ratio in the land of JRR Tolkein. But the point is raised that they are *thrilled* to finally be “represented” in the Tolkein universe. And yet… they claim to have been fans *before* this series. Thus they were fans of white dwarves and white elves and white hobbit, as Tolkein described them. They didn’t actually need “representation” to be fans. They were fans (if they really were fans, and not just paid actors) of the story, characters and world that Tolkein created. They weren’t fans of the story, characters and world created by an Amazon algorithm.

Given the scripted nature of this atrocity, this is how Amazon wants to portray their little project. It’s not an accident. This is what Amazon thinks of Tolkein, his works and those who have actually been fans of them for years and decades.

If Amazon really wanted to produce a quality product that respected Tolkein and the fandom, they’d have a “roundtable” with acknowledged scholars and long-term fans. This group of people would, theoretically, be able to say “why, yes, it looks like it really respects Tolkein and I approve.” The fact that Amazon has no such offering tells you a lot.

Shrug.

Maybe in fifteen, twenty years, Elon Musk will have bought the rights to LotR and the Silmarillion, and will produce a *proper* multi-year projects covering the First and Second Ages. We can only hope, cuz this thing fills me with STD-levels of basement-level expectations.

Where you get to be lectured by a seemingly unceasing string of woke talking points about how humans, who owe our usefully capable brains to eating meat, need to become vegans in order to not be racist and misogynistic because… reasons.

It must be *amazing* to live in a brain like the one on display below. Eating meat is white supremacy. Somehow. Apparently popular culture is filled with depictions of “sexy fish” who want to be consumed. Fortunately, a lot of her more insane gibberings are met with laughter.

The developed world is being flooded with “migrants.” This is far beyond deniable at this stage. The only debatable questions are “why is this happening,” “why does it continued to be allowed,” and “is it too late to do anything about it other than hope Elon Musk makes interplanetary colonization possible before the influx of the third world into the first destroys the ability of civilization to survive out in space.”

The fact that such a large percentage  of the “migrants” are young males says a lot about the goals of the endeavor. The lands they leave behind are populated with their women and children; those lands will continue to be what they have been. The lands they enter will be colonized and changed; far too many are stories of “migrants” who attack locals, get arrested and then receive leniency – or are outright released – because their savagery is part of their original culture, and Obama forbid that host nations expect immigrants to adapt.

A smidge of hypocrisy:

European edition:

I do, however, have a compromise to deal with *all* of the worlds problems. The first video claims that the media focus on Ukraine/Russia is to divert attention from the ongoing invasion of the US. Well, maybe. Thing is, Russia invading Ukraine would be a bad thing regardless. So… my idea: scoop up a few dozen million of these military age male migrants. The US has a lot to spare, as does France, Britain, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, etc.  Gather them all together in staging areas, and if Russia invades Ukraine or China invades Taiwan, drop these conscripts into the war zone. Hell, maybe even arm a few of them with bolt action rifles or something. Let them be useful, rather than cultural, financial and demographic drags on their host nations.

Remember when it was announced last year that the graves of hundreds of indigenous children were found on the grounds of a Canadian Catholic school? Wellllll…..

In Kamloops, Not One Body Has Been Found

Someday, humanity might evolve to the point where not every single accusation against western civilization is automatically believed by the media and the politicians and the activists before there’s any actual evidence. Sadly, we’re still at the monkey-throwing-its-own-poop stage of evolution, it seems.

So, as Los Angeles and other localities allow criminality to skyrocket, new stories get crazier and crazier. Recently it was reported how trains are being robbed in broad daylight, with the thieves turning the region into a third world garbage pit. It got worse: the same spot saw a train derail, possibly because of all the garbage left on the tracks:

Freight train derails in Lincoln Heights

The local and state government have proven wholly unwilling to deal with the issue. But trains are almost definitionally inter-state commerce, so couldn’t the federal government swoop in? Granted, that would require that the FBI be able and willing to do its job, the Justice Department willing to prosecute *actual* criminals, the government as a whole being full of people willing to uphold the Constitution and their oaths of office. So… yeah, maybe not so likely to happen, or at least happen effectively. But at least theoretically, shouldn’t the FBI, ATF, IRS, DOT and just about every other Alphabet Agency be on the job here, ready to swoop in, snatch train robbers, and send them to some FPMITA Prison for a term of decades?
