A photo of a NASA Nova design, in rather crude display model form.
On eBay:
1980-s SOVIET *ENERGIA-BURAN* SPACE SHUTTLE 1:25 MODEL, 111″ HUGE AND DETAILED!
A very large model of Energia-Buran, apparently actually made by Energia, with a Buy It Now price of only twenty-five grand.
Assuming it actually does come from the Energia Rocket Corporation museum, I’m of two minds:
1) It’s sad that Energia is selling this off, for whatever reason
2) I’m sad that the Russians are better capitalists than American aerospace companies, who not only wouldn’t bother with museums but who instead would either have models like this stuff in some wooden crate in a storage facility, never to be seen again, or simply dumped in the trash or intentionally destroyed.
The LK CAD model is now complete, just needs to be processed into a series of STL files and passed on to the “printer.” It’ll be a hell of a kit.
A photo from the recent Air Force Association Technology Expo 2012 shows a large display model of the F-35 with weapons bays loaded with Lockheed-Martin “Cuda” air-to-air missiles:
A Lockheed Martin model shows how its “’Cuda” concept for a small AMRAAM-class radar guided dogfight missile could triple the air-to-air internal loadout on an F-35. The missile is about the size of a Small Diameter Bomb and fits on an SDB-style rack.
I’ve not seen anything on this missile before (at least not under the name “Cuda”). So off to Google I went… and came away equally unenlightened. About the only relevant thing I could find was that Lock-Mart took out a trademark on “CUDA” for a guided missile in 2011.
