I’ve put a few sets of 11X17 diagrams on eBay:

Northrop F-23 predecessor and derivatives diagram booklet

Dsc_0582a

Lockheed Archangel Diagram booklet (SR-71 predecessor designs)

Dsc_0593a

McDonnell-Douglas/General Dynamics A-12 Avenger II Diagram Booklet

Dsc_0586a

I don’t really know if these’ll do at all well on eBay, but what the heck. I’m hoping they might serve as a bit of advertising, though. The Archangel set is very likely a one-off, a result of the printer actually spitting out two copies rather than one.

For those of you who were generous a good long while ago and have been wondering “what the hell?!?!” the technology and techniques I’ve been developing and requiring recently will prove relevant.

On eBay:

1980-s SOVIET *ENERGIA-BURAN* SPACE SHUTTLE 1:25 MODEL, 111″ HUGE AND DETAILED!

A very large model of Energia-Buran, apparently actually made by Energia, with a Buy It Now price of only twenty-five grand.

  • The model has been made by the manufacturer of the real rocket – Energia Rocket Corporation.
  • Made of aluminium alloy, brass, steel and wood this model is not a plastic toy, it’s solid and heavy.
  • The size of the model – 111″ (or 283 cm). It’s a real big size exhibit.
  • Any museum or collector could be proud to have this model in collection because of its quality and many details.
  • Exceptionally rare to find, the only known copy of this model is placed into the museum of its manufacturer – Energia Rocket Corporation
  • Assuming it actually does come from the Energia Rocket Corporation museum, I’m of two minds:

    1) It’s sad that Energia is selling this off, for whatever reason

    2) I’m sad that the Russians are better capitalists than American aerospace companies, who not only wouldn’t bother with museums but who instead would either have models like this stuff in some wooden crate in a storage facility, never to be seen again, or simply dumped in the trash or intentionally destroyed.

Your right to resell your own stuff is in peril

It could become illegal to resell your iPhone 4, car or family antiques

The logic: you don’t own the copyright to that old novel or the Iphone you want to sell. Therefore if you want to sell it, you need to get the copyright owners permission.

Crazy? You betcha. But the Supreme Court is going to hear this very argument soon enough. Anything not made in the US may become *illegal* to resell. And since we don’t make much of anything anymore, that means pretty much everything may become illegal to resell.

As should be obvious, one of my jobs is that of “model maker.” This is a job title that I suspect is not long for this world; more and more it’s going to 3D CAD & 3D printing. Additionally, American craftsmen in areas such as this simply cannot charge the cheap prices that the Asian  “genuine Philippine mahogany” sweatshop/slave labor firms do. So to compete, we’ve got to be *better* than the Asian crap and/or often touch on more obscure topics. I try to do both.

Ebay is a source for a lot of the cheap Asian models. I check in from time to time to see what thing they’re cranking out now. I saw a Project Orion model listed… and I gotta laugh:

Wow. That’s just so wrong on so many levels.

Two very large format (one was 36X120 inches) blueprints of the Boeing 2707-300 SST were up on eBay. I bid, and lost badly. So, I won’t be scanning them and making them available, sadly.

So, in lieu of high rez scans, here’s what you get: a coupla photos.

See, this is what happens when you don’t tithe a donation to me on a  regular basis: I don’t have the funds to go nuts on the buying of neato aerospace stuff. So my assumption here is that these blueprints have been sold back to Boeing, who will store them in a deep dark place never to see the light of day again until they are fed into a shredder.

    Sadly, I’m only kinda kidding.
