Update: Claimed to be a hoax. But as we’ve been told repeatedly in recent years, the seriousness of the accusation is more important than the accuracy of it.

Canada Has a Problem With Brandon

If this is accurate and not a hoax, this seems a rather remarkable abuse of power:

In a notice written late last week, a [REDACTED] official (see photo below) warned that “the use of the wording ‘Let’s Go Brandon” and any variation thereof under any circumstances is banned.”

“Violation of this policy,” the notice concludes, “will be grounds for immediate dismissal without recourse or labour union representation.”

If this is accurate, is there a complete list somewhere of things Canadian government employees must not ever say or write? If it has gotten all the way down to “Let’s Go Brandon,” you’d imagine that that list would be EXTENSIVE.

Also, it should be noted that whoever wrote that memo should be promptly fired without recourse. Note that it specifically says “the use of the wording ‘Let’s Go Brandon” and any variation thereof under any circumstances is banned.” That’s quite clear. We’ve all heard of cases where people have gotten fired/cancelled/demoted/threatened for saying A Bad Word, even when in the context of simply technically describing what the Bad Word is and how and why it’s Bad.

Also seemingly relevant: the Streisand Effect.

Former New Mexico State Representative Sheryl Williams Stapleton is accused  (and charged 28 times) with embezzling millions of dollars. In Juky she got a visit from a number of officials packing assault rifles (*real* ones no doubt, with actual select fire capability) and her home was searched in what has to be the most polite home inspection of this kind I’ve ever heard of. I’m sure any random civilian who had a warrant served on them like this would experience something a bit more enthusiastic, but at least this happened.

Now… to take a look at the Swalwells and the Bidens.

Note that the cops here are, at least in part, IRS.

California students will have to take ethnic studies to get a diploma

The state’s ethnic studies framework, approved in March, promotes “a social consciousness” and will address “institutionalized systems of advantage” and forms of bigotry including anti-Blackness, xenophobia and anti-Semitism.

That sounds *spectacular.*

Exciting new developments in the field of pre-crime:

Accidental leak reveals US government has secretly hit Google with ‘keyword warrants’ to identify ANYONE searching certain names, addresses, and phone numbers

Mostly it looks like if you do Google searches on things what go kerblam, the FBI might start taking an interest in you.

The original Forbes article on the subject focuses on a slightly more sensible – yet still creepy – use of the concept:

Exclusive: Government Secretly Orders Google To Identify Anyone Who Searched A Sexual Assault Victim’s Name, Address And Telephone Number

There are, I suppose, a *few* good reasons why you’re want to look up information on a crime victim. One, you’re a journalist covering the story. Two, you’re the defendants lawyer. Three, you’re the victim and you want to know what’s out there about you. Four, you run a “fake hate crime” database and your story sounds fishy. But beyond that, valid reasons beyond generalized curiosity get kinda thin. Still, putting someone under surveillance for doing so seems… ahem, unwarranted. Unless that someone is an actual suspect, I suppose.

Biden may owe up to $500K in back taxes

Paying taxes isn’t for the likes of Joe Biden. Of course he’s hardly alone…

AOC’s ‘Tax the Rich’ dress designer Aurora James owes debt in multiple states

In the art of avoiding taxes, Biden’s a piker compared to the Canadian immigrant that vacuous AOC decided to lavish attention upon with her talent-free “Tax The Rich” irony-dress.

A topic for discussion: government mask mandates.

It certainly appears that the Commie Cough is on an upward trend again after having been seemingly knocked down by the Trump-era “Project Warp Speed” vaccines. I have no problem wearing a mask in a store or a doctors office, even though I’ve had the vaccine. Being told to by the management of a store doesn’t bother me, any more than “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Business” bothers me. But the government poking its nose into this does start to bother me. Of course the nonsense being done in Australia is clearly far over the line of what a free people should tolerate.

I am, I believe, a practical-minded middle of the road libertrian-ish minarchist. The government should do what it is Constitutionally mandated to do… and nothing more. Not even “for the public good” or “for the children.” If such things are that important, then the Constitution can and should be changed. If you can’t drum up the support to change the Constitution, then it’s not that important. The jobs of laws that restrict a persons behavior should not be to protect that person from themselves (and thus I’m opposed to laws against doing stupid dangerous stuff), but to protect other people from someone’s behavior. And thus a mask mandate… I can see it. If there is a reasonable risk that *you* coughing could infect other people, then *you* masking up makes sense.

But since there is a vaccine… are those vaccinated a risk to others if they are unmasked?

Even if masks are a good enough idea that mandating them in an emergency makes sense, what we’re seeing is the use of such “emergency” powers for long-term power grabs. I honestly can’t see any direct benefit to a tyrannical regime in making everyone mask up; it does not practically hinder the people, but it does make it more difficult to identify individuals for specific oppression. On the other hand, masks are likely not the end goal, but a wedge in the door: get people used to this little intrusion. Then one more little thing. Then another. And soon enough, we’re Australia, and interstate travel ans ceased and the economy is in free fall, and the only hope for the poor beleaguered citizens is Super Government swooping to the rescue with all new payouts. Conspiratorial? Maybe. Unlikely? Probably not. See: Australia.

So, after all that blather, simple, question: government mask mandate, yes or no?

The Taliban got this stuff for free, courtesy Joe Biden. but a lot of these things would get an American *arrested* and his life ruined if he was found to own one.

Sixty-four *thousand* machine guns. More than a third of a *million* assault rifles (real ones, not the semi-auto sporters Americans are occasionally allowed to buy). Artillery. Armored vehicles. Hummers. Fricken Herkybirds.

If the US government is giving machine guns to our enemies, their moral high ground for preventing *me* from owning one has evaporated. I have high hopes that this will be used in the Supreme Court to demonstrate that the government *really* doesn’t think that fully automatic weapons are a problem, and thus the NFA should be repealed.

This is hidden camera footage of this very fine gentleman, Gabriel Gipe, admitting to his intellectually corrupt and ethically bankrupt philosophies and goals for twisting childrens minds in his role as a teacher in the Inderkum High School in California. But the thing is… he advertises his communist ideology *openly,* with not only Antifa and Maoist propaganda on the walls of his classroom, they are tattooed all over him (not to mention the Hammer & Sickle shirt). He’s even got the INGSOC logo prominently displayed on his arm. “1984” was supposed to be a warning, not a users manual… but here we are, using taxpayer dollars to fund direct indoctrination and intimidation of our school children into the worst ideology to come around in the last thousand years.

Doubtless there’ll be a minor kerfuffle in the Natomas Unifed School District over this, and he might even be invited to explore new career options. but the thing is… he should have not been in that position in the first place. Other heads should roll for putting someone like that in a position like that. Imagine some other teacher hanging up a Confederate flag or a portrait of Hitler, and you get a fraction of the way towards the level of scumbag this guy represents.

But wait! There’s more!!!

There is at least a glimmer of hope, though:

Teacher who says she told kids to pledge to Pride flag removed from California class

“Removed during an investigation” is not quite as good as “fired, and we’ve contacted every other school in the country to warn them that this person has been abusing an untold number of impressionable children, and we’ve instructed all our other teachers and staff that this sort of insane and abusive behavior will not be tolerated.” But it’s at least a start.
