<> ABC will be running a miniseries remake of the 1980’s sci-fi epic “V.” But along with the expected updating of the special effect, there’s another major change. I don’t know how in the hell they managed to get this past the suits, but it looks like the new “V” will replace the 1980’s “Alien Nazis” with “Alien Obamists.” Take a look at the trailers:

The Visitors hide who they really are behind a mask of friendliness.

Thus, Melissa Harris-Lacewell, professor of African-American studies at Princeton, was invited on to National Public Radio to expound on the use of “racial code words” in “the current opposition to health care reform.” For example, explained professor Harris-Lacewell, “language of personal responsibility is often a code language used against poor and minority communities.”

“Personal responsibility” is racial code language? Phew, thank goodness America is belatedly joining Canada and Europe in all but abolishing the concept.

“Code language” is code language for “total bollocks.” “Code word” is a code word for “I’m inventing what you really meant to say because the actual quote doesn’t quite do the job for me.” “Small government”? Racist code words! “Non-confiscatory taxes”? Likewise. “Individual liberty”? Don’t even go there! To an incisive NPR racism analyst, the elderly gentleman telling his congressman “I’m very concerned by what I’ve heard about wait times for MRIs in Canada” is really saying “I’m unable to overcome my deep-seated racial anxieties about the sexual prowess of black males, especially now they’re giving prime-time press conferences every night.” With interpreters like professor Harris-Lacewell on the prowl, I’m confident 95 per cent of Webster’s will eventually be ruled “code language.”

I urge you to read the whole article. It’s worth it… entertaining as always, and has a hundred times more truth than any speech by Obama or his ilk.

The Long Retreat

Was it only April? There was President Obama, speaking (as is his wont) in Prague, about the Iranian nuclear program and ballistic-missile capability, and saluting America’s plucky allies: “The Czech Republic and Poland have been courageous in agreeing to host a defense against these missiles,” he declared. “As long as the threat from Iran persists, we will go forward with a missile-defense system that is cost-effective and proven.”

On Thursday, the administration scrapped its missile-defense plans for Eastern Europe. The “courageous” Czechs and Poles will have to take their chances. Did the “threat from Iran” go away? Not so’s you’d notice. The dawn of the nuclear ayatollahs is perhaps only months away, and, just in case the Zionists or (please, no tittering) the formerly Great Satan is minded to take ’em out, Tehran will shortly be taking delivery of a bunch of S-300 anti-aircraft batteries from (ta-da!) Russia. Fancy that.

Awesome. Not only taking a giant dump on our allies, but also kowtowing to those who would gladly arm our enemies.

Oh, and flat-out lying. I’m amazed that anyone still supports Barky. Now, couple the foreign policy of appeasign those who would harm us while crapping on our allies with this:

As an economic power, the U.S. may go the way of the British Empire because of the government’s increasing debt burden, according to Richard A. Posner, an economist and federal judge.

The CHART OF THE DAY shows how the public debt, or the national debt aside from liabilities for entitlement programs, has climbed in the past year.

Declining tax revenue, rising Medicare costs, congressional reluctance to cut spending or raise levies, and the likely cost of efforts to overhaul health care and promote climate control will push the debt higher, in Posner’s view.

“At some point the wheels may start coming off the chassis,” he wrote. “The United States may find itself in the kind of downward economic spiral in which ‘developing’ countries often find themselves.” He drew the comparison with the British Empire, whose economic position in the early 20th century was similar to the U.S. role today.

It’s becoming more and more difficult to see Obama’s long term goals as anything but eliminating the US as a world player.

President Obama, race and the unpatriotic right

This whole screed is chock-full-o-nuts, but it ends on the truly delusional:

I would remind the far right what the Apostle Paul wrote, ” … there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” Hence, Obama is the U.S. president and leader of the Free World because he was appointed by God.

Need I say more?

Yeah. You could say, “Sorry, I seem to have forgotten to take my anti-psychotic meds for today.”

A patriot is one who loves, supports and defends his or her nation and loves its citizens, especially the U.S. president. A patriot subscribes to symbolic values such as honoring the flag, singing the national anthem and fighting nonviolently for fundamental freedoms.

Wow. Really? Loving the president is now one of the defining values of a patriot? What the hell happened to “dissent is the highest form of patriotism?” And when did the Left decide that singing the national anthem was a Really Important Thing?

And I’m sorry, but fighting “nonviolently” for fundamental freedoms did not *win* those freedoms. Grabing the assault weapon of the day and perforating a whole lot of British and Hessian soldiers won those freedoms. That ain’t non-violent. I may not be an expert, but I’m pretty sure nailing someone with a lead ball the size and speed of a deer slug is kinda the direct opposite of “non-violent.”

The rest of the ill-informed and ill-intentioned piece perpetuates the poplar leftist myth that opposition to socialism is de facto racism.

I weep for the future if this is the caliber of professor Universities stoop to employ these days.

This is another example of the Leftist Who Cried Racism, doing his part to eliminate the value in the word “racism.”

“Truthers” are those nutburgers who think that the 9/11 was perpetrated not by 19 pissed off Muslims, but by the US government.

“Birthers” are those zealous in their faith that Obama was born in Kenya or Indonesia or some damned place. (While there are a *lot* of unanswered basic questions regarding Barky’s paperwork – including so far a lack of a long-form birth certificate and the virtually complete absense of his university records and writings – the fact that his birth was announced at the time in a Hawaiian newspaper pretty much seals the deal).

It’s time for a new group: the “Racers.” Those who either see all opposition to Obama as racism, or simply choose to call all opposition to Obama “racism.”

And just as someone announcing that they are a “Truther” or a “Birther” is sufficient cause for them to be laughed out of public discourse… so too should the “Racers” be laughed out of the court of public opinion.

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve undoubtedly heard of the sting operations conducted at the Baltimore, MD, Washington, D.C., and New York City ACORN offices. A man posing as a pimp and a woman posing as a hooker go in to not only get assistance in getting loans for a house, but also for assistance in bringing in underage El Salvadoran girls to work as sex slaves in that house. A normal person would expect that such a request for help would be met with, at least, an uncomfortable silence, and, hopefully, a call to the cops. Instead, in at least four instances (and there are rumors of another dozen or so sting videos to come), the “pimp” – who also claims to be working on a political career, basing it on the profits to be obtained from the child prostitution ring – gets a lot of advice on how to break the law. The first three (which you can watch HERE (Baltimore) and HERE (DC part 1) and HERE (DC part 2) and HERE (NYC part 1) and HERE (NYC part 2) ) are bad enough. But the latest video out of San Bernadino is just simply astonishing.

This has been all over the Interweb tubes and Fox news, but has been getting less coverage on the mainstream media sources. ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson lays out the case why this scandal has been so underplayed: he wasn’t aware of it.

Of course, ACORN has been trying to spin this scandal as anyone’s fault but their own. According to a press release from Bertha Lewis, ACORNs Chief Organizer:

We are their Willy Horton for 2009. We are the boogeyman for the right-wing and its echo chambers. If ACORN did not exist, the right-wing would have needed to create us in order to achieve their agenda, their missions, their ideal, retrograde America. … But it is clear that the videos are doctored, edited, and in no way the result of the fabricated story being portrayed by conservative activist “filmmaker” O’Keefe and his partner in crime. And, in fact, a crime it was – our lawyers believe a felony – and we will be taking legal action against Fox and their co-conspirators.

Note the “We are their Willie Horton.” They are comparing themselves to a murder and a rapist. Somehow… that seems appropriate.

Bertha, honey, your little merry band of pirates has itself a problem. Had the sting worked at only one place, you could write it off as some bad apples in your organization. But it wasn’t limited to one office, but AT LEAST four.

I have no faith – -never did – in the idea that Obama will bring Americans together into a joyful union where race does not matter. However, I’m becoming convinced that within a few years, there’s a 50-50 chance that “racism” will cease to matter. Here’s some evidence:

Eight months into Barack Obama’s presidency, as criticism of his administration seems to reach new levels of volume and intensity each week, the whispers among some of his allies are growing louder: That those who loathe the nation’s first African-American president, and especially those who would deny his citizenship, are driven at least in part by racism.

“We think all of it is!” exclaimed Gwen Dawkins, a Democratic activist from Michigan and retired state employee when asked to what degree the fervent opposition to Obama was driven by his skin color.

Black Publishers Cry Racism Over Wilson Outburst, Join Boycott of South Carolina

A group of black newspaper publishers on Friday charged Republican Rep. Joe Wilson with racism for yelling, “You lie,” at President Obama during his nationally televised address to a joint session of Congress.

“As African-American newspaper publishers we stand in solidarity with the NAACP and fully support the economic boycott of South Carolina,” NNPA Chairman Danny J. Bakewell Sr. said. “Rep. Wilson’s remarks were racist, disrespectful, and a disingenuous violation — not only of President Obama — but to the institution of the presidency and only solidified our position and the importance in not spending black dollars where black people are not respected.”

Obama as The Joker: Racial Fear’s Ugly Face

So why the anonymity? Perhaps because the poster is ultimately a racially charged image. By using the “urban” makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can’t openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and ’70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness despite falling crime rates.

And so on. The New Conventional Wisdom is that all opposition to Obama and his policies is due to “racism.” Over the last thirty years or so, the accusation of “you’re a racist!” has worked like Kryptonite against rational discourse. The moment someone like Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson accuses someone of being a racist, that someone needs to go into full-bore grovelmode.

But the accusation is now being tossed around so commonly, and over such patently stupid ideas as the Joker poster or “You lie!” that the accusation will soon enough lose whatever meaning it once had. So instead of the current practice of responding to “You’re a racist!” with a long list of reasons why you’re really not, followed by meaningless but time consuming acts of contrition… it may soon be responded to with “so what?”

So Obama’s zealous followers could end up ending “racism” in this country. Just not in the way they’d hoped.

Senate must raise debt ceiling above $12T

A little Hope, a little Change… pretty soon you’re talking real money.

The Senate must move legislation to raise the federal debt limit beyond $12.1 trillion by mid-October, a move viewed as necessary despite protests about the record levels of red ink.

The move will highlight the nation’s record debt, which has been central to Republican attacks against Democratic congressional leaders and President Barack Obama. The year’s deficit is expected to hit a record $1.6 trillion.

Democrats in control of Congress, including then-Sen. Obama (Ill.), blasted President George W. Bush for failing to contain spending when he oversaw increased deficits and raised the debt ceiling.

“Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren,” Obama said in a 2006 floor speech that preceded a Senate vote to extend the debt limit. “America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership.”
