Augmented Reality (AR) Sandbox

Yes, there are practical applications here for agricultural planning, water engineering, etc. But let’s face it: if this was affordable, this sort of thing would be used far more by people designing their own worlds for role playing games, sci-fi, fantasy, etc.

Macon County judge finds state gun ban violates Illinois Constitution; state appeals

The finding is pretty obvious, as banning common firearms and standard magazines is *incandescently* unconstitutional. But what seems to be the case now is that, for the moment, the law is not in effect *state* *wide.*  MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA….

I’ve never gotten into RC aircraft. Partly because I know that I am fated to spend thousands of hours building something only to have it promptly flop over two seconds after I launch the thing. But static display models? All about that. So this electric RC B-1B bomber looks intriguing. At $800, it’s out of my price range and I *certainly* don’t have a place to display it (seems to be about 1/23 scale)… but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s just neato.

All hail China’s wise socialist leadership! Had they been capitalists, this mine collapse in Mongolia a few days ago in “Alxa League” in China’s inner Mongolia region might have been bad. Fortunately, this strip mine, which was digging for green, clean, environmentally friendly coal, was run by communists and/or their hand-picked functionaries. So huzzah!

Note the gigantic dump trucks being tossed around like toys.

It’s time to post my first batch of cyanotypes to ebay. But I ran into a conundrum… how should I categorize them? I started entering the first one, the Sat Ib, as “collectible-historical memorabilia-astronauts & space travel-etc” but then I realized that these were made by me over the last few weeks. The *sources* for the blueprints are of course historical, but the actual items themselves are brand new, hand made “art” items. Suggestions?

I don’t know how reliable this is, but if it’s accurate… yee haw. 2023 is just the year that keeps on giving. A small asteroid 9~1 meter) is aimed at the south side of the English channel, impacting 03:00:03 UT tomorrow. Probably won;t make it to the water as a single object, but most likely will kerplode at altitude.
