I’m just about packed up, and will be heading out Sunday AM for the long drive back to Utah. I’ve disposed of the high speed internet access, and am now back on the apartment complex’s crappy WiFi, so I’ll probably nto be back online before I split. I intend to go a bit slower home than I did coming here, so I’ll be stopping at a number of museums and such on the way (USAF/Dayton, Strategic/Lincoln, Nebraska, Heartland Armor, etc.).

Oh, yeah: ATK sucks.

I spent the day at the National Archive sin College Park, MD. The trip was largely a bust… only came away with a few minor trinkets. One nice little item was a Bell film promoting the BoMi (Bomber Missile) concept, circa 1957, starring Walter Dornberger his own self. I got a copy of it on VHS. This is non-optimal… would have greatly preferred DVD. But you take what you can get. Small problem in that I don’t have a VCR…

Took some photos of the monitor. Again, non-optimal, but until I can get the VHS converted to DVD, it’s what I’ve got.
The BoMi series of articles will begin soon in APR. This video will provide some further insight.

Just about done with this one. I’m hoping to have the Word document version of the issue finished up around this weekend. Not quite sure when it’ll be released. My laptop is giving me difficulties in converting Word documents to PDF… I always did this step on my PC, which is now far, far away. Maybe the local Staples can do it for me, dunno….

Barring some screwup, I leave tomorrow AM for the drive to Maryland. I plan on kinda taking my time… accordign to Mapquest it’s a 31 hour drive which could in principle be done in three good days of driving, but I’m scheduling myself to arrive Saturday or so.

If you don’t see updates from me, that’s because somethign unfortunate has happened to my net access, my laptop or my person.

Looking at my records… wow. Subscriptions to APR have *really* fallen off a lot in the last two months. I thought for sure that the Orion and submarine aircraft carrier issues would get lots of subscribers. Nope.  I know for a fact that APR should appeal to a vastly larger audience than the current miniscule subscriber base. I know the price ain’t unreasonable… $28 for 500 or more pages of actual content  seems like a bargain to me. So why are people not subscribing?
