A literary celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s record-breaking reign

A “panel of experts” selected 70 books, one for each year of God-Empress Queen Elizabeth II, Defender of the Faith, Monarch of India, Regina Andor Augustus Iaponius Centarius’s reign from 1952 to the present. In all those seventy titles meant to honor the British monarch… there seem to be twelve English authors, two Welsh, four Scottish, one Northern Irish.  Actual Brits  are not considered all that literary-worthy by the BBC. JRR Tolkein’s “The Lord of the Rings” is conspicuous in its absence. The rest is a “Who’s That” list of authors from Sri Lanka and Rwanda and Jamaica, stuff you’ve never read and likely would put down after a page or two to go find something actually interesting to do instead.

And British people *still* have to pay a license to watch the BBC, even though it is freely broadcast through the air.

Boeing moving headquarters to D.C.

Boeing *used* to have their headquarters where they actually made stuff. Then they moved to Chicago (far, far away from their manufacturing capabilities), and since then their ability to make stuff has been… kind of a joke.Now they’re moving to the region of D.C. Their ability to make stuff can be assumed to be at an end.

Maybe Elon Musk could buy Boeings factories? It’s not like Boeing will have much further need for them, now that they will be a full-time Lobbying Corporation.

Well, this should prove an interesting tale, especially when they figure out the motive:

Attacker had an ill-defined weapon… apparently it looked like a gun, but was a knife… and apparently it could hurl the blade. “Ballistic knives” are fundamentally kinda useless weapons, only cool to those in middle school, but they’re also often illegal which seems to be the case in California. Since they are illegal in California, and since a criminal certainly would not break the law in California, it’s a mystery what the attacker actually had.

I’m 50/50 on whether the attacker was politically motivated or just bog standard bugnuts. In either case, it’s reasonable to assume that public displays of humor are likely going to decline a bit.

After the unprecedented (and I’m led to understand illegal) leak of the Supreme Court preliminary opinion on overturning Roe vs Wade, the violent insurrectionists, yearning for the glory days of 2020, are back to doing what they do: violence.

If true, this could well result in the Democrats seizing further control in November, since they will be able to use this to fearmonger. In any event, politicking in the next few months will be energetic.

Turns out the little drones can do a *lot* of damage!

Previous footage showed a little drone dropping something akin to a grenade, doing damage to soft targets. Here’s one apparently kerploding a *tank.* WTF??? It drops *two* bombs, so it’s clearly not one of those dinky camera drones, but something bigger, but it still seems like a whole lot of bang for the buck.
