Alex Stein took his show on the road to mock armed Antifa LARPER whackos to their faces. The one thing I wish he’d done is zoom in on their firearms and try to obtain serial numbers. Not because there’d be anything to do with that data, really, but the effort of obtaining it would likely freak out these little weirdos.

A mere sixteen years ago I posted artwork of the Martin “EGRESS” ejection capsule meant to fling crew from a stricken spacecraft anywhere up to and including orbit. Those scans came from photocopies of a conference paper. I have at last now scanned the same work, producing slightly better results. The artwork is remarkable for one detail in particular: of the two crewmen, one is clearly Lance Squarejaw, wholly unfazed at his situation. The other is… not unfazed. I’d pay real money to get at the original color painting.

The Zambian space program was a magnificent Other Way Of Space Knowing. Did it fail due to machinations from the bigger nations? Or did it succeed, and right now Mars is populated by enlightened Zambians?
“Send Us Thine Asteroid, o Lord” is a hymn I would kind of expect to hear in increasing frequency in this new era of intentionally electing the brain-damaged to the Senate and White House and letting absolute weirdos corrupt kids in school and turning STEM upside down in favor of “other ways of knowing.”
Can’t he;p but think that somewhere, HPL is nodding along to this.

It’s an old video, but hey, it’s new to me. And it’s freakin’ hilarious.
This guy tells a joke, the short from of which is that learning about science in school is useless, because he didn’t become a scientist. Now it could well be that he doesn’t actually believe that; perhaps a longer video with more context has him redeem himself later. But the basic notion expressed here grates on me more than a lame joke by an unknown standup comic really aught to. It would be better by far for kids to learn about science and math and then have them not go into STEM fields, than to replace science and math with the latest trendy identity politics subjects. Because even if the kids *do* go into the fields of gender studies or LGBTQ studies or racial grievance activism… society is *worse* off. Learning math helps a kid order their mind. Learning science helps a kid learn skepticism. Learning critical race theory helps a kid become a racist monster. Learning about the latest innovation in pronoun-invention helps a kid become schizophrenic and sterile.
Watch in amusement as these two witness “The Exorcist” for the first time. This is one of the most “Nope, I’m out” flicks ever made, and both recoiling in horror and laughing yourself fuzzy are appropriate and allowable responses.
