Silver-nosed Danish astrono-zombies!

Body of Danish Astronomer Tycho Brahe Exhumed from Tomb

Archeologists are exhuming the body of 16th century astronomer Tycho Brahe from a tomb in Prague to solve long-standing mysteries over the famed Danish scientist’s health — and possibly, his death.

This will not end well.

  1. I like the quicksilver poisoning aspect, and the fact that the woman in the tomb _isn’t_ his wife.
No flies on Tycho, by God.
Also…where’s the pet dwarf? What sort of man allows himself to be entombed without his pet dwarf?
Seriously, the quicksilver could also mean two other things than poisoning:

1: He had syphilis; mercury containing compounds were used to try to deal with that in that time period. That would also explain where the nose went, as it rotted away due to the illness, rather than getting cut off during a swordfight.

2: Take a wild guess who was playing around with alchemy? To anyone who spends all day partying, all night plotting star and planetary positions, has a pet dwarf…and a replacement silver nose, alchemy would seem almost expected, wouldn’t it? 😀

  2. I’d bet on syphilis too. Mercury treatments for that were in use right up to World War II.

  3. I’m getting so sick-and-tired of Michio Kaku doing his Carl Sagan impersonation that I could puke.
And I’m not talking about some tenth-dimensional hyperspace puke either, I’m talking about a good ol’ three-dimensional puke right in his face.
    “Things to do today:
    1. Take out garbage.
    2. Go to store and buy more bread for grilled cheese sandwiches.
    3. Locate Michio Kaku and projectile vomit in his face.”
