H.R.5741 — Universal National Service Act (Introduced in House – IH)
HR 5741 IH
111th CONGRESS
2d Session
H. R. 5741
To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes.—————

Guess who introduced this bit of Fasicsm? Yes, that’s right, that moral paragon of ethics… Charlie Rangel.

It is the obligation of every citizen of the United States, and every other person residing in the United States, who is between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of national service as prescribed in this title unless exempted under the provisions of this title….  Except as otherwise provided in this section, the period of national service performed by a person under this title shall be two years.

Bite me, Chuck. I signed no such contract; therefore I’m under no such obligation.

  1. He is introducing this piece of drivel every year, and it never gets out of committee. Considering that he may be kicked out of congress because of ethics charges, I don’t see it going anywhere.

  2. It says much about the man… and the people who support him.

  3. So. . .will the civies wear brown shirts? 😉

  4. How’s the pay for that? Long as it comes the 1st and 15th, like back in my Navy days I’m good. Brown’s not my color, but a paycheck’s a paycheck 🙂

  5. When I clicked on the link, I got the background images butt no content. Everyone must be going there tonight.

Every country does this just before they get into a bad situation. Hermann Goering said something about this: “Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship. …voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”

  6. So a politician (Charles Rangel) has rumor has it that being using his importance for his own reward. And we ought to be suprised about this. people say that the oldest career is usually to do with certain bedroom antics but its really people in power acting corruptly.
