I saw this today and laughed until it hurt. But given the smidgeon of NSFW text, it’s after the break. Also: further yammer about Ark Encounter.

Creationist Ken Ham Just Lowered Attendance Estimates for the First Year of Ark Encounter

Ham had originally claimed that his little exhibit would bring in 2,000,000 visitors per year. Based on the 300,000 or so claimed visitors since the -place opened in early July, they are now estimated about 1,400,000 visitors in the first year. but as is pointed out, visits are expected to drop because:

  1. School age kids are now going back to school
  2. Winter is coming
  3. Profit!

It’s kind of hard to imagine just who is going to be clamoring to visit this place in a years time. Reportedly the whole thing can be adequately seen in about 45 minutes, which hardly seems like the sort of thing people would travel a great distance for. And as the best line in the piece points out:

This isn’t a real museum; the exhibits aren’t going to change with new information.

Indeed. What amazing new revelations can they come up with in the future?
