Chinese Physicists Measure Speed of “Spooky Action At a Distance”

The speed of action for quantum entanglement has bee  measured at more than 13,800times faster than the speed of light. I find it interesting that it seems to be a measurable multiple of c… I would have expected exactly c or infinity, but not something in between.

    Kudos for posting a link to the paper, but I just thought I’d point out that it was measured to be at least 13,800c, their technique is unable to produce any upper-bound on the speed. So your intuition is most likely correct: people fully expect infinity to be a likely actual speed, while all this shows is that it is damn fast!

    Or it might be a loose wire, what with the neutrino deal last year or so.

    If an actual speed can ever be pinned down, I think the idea of an elegant universe goes in the dustbin..

    I always guessed that a theory of everything would drive even Wiles–who solved for Fermat–mad.

    Grahams number might be easier to deal with.
