Everyone knows that pit bulls are nothing more than mindless killing machines, a bloodthirsty danger to everyone around them. Take this example, for instance:

Dave Sharpe, of Arlington, Virginia, was suffering with severe post-traumatic stress disorder when he decided to put a pistol in his mouth and commit suicide.

But his pit bull Cheyenne saw him crying with the gun in his mouth and licked his ear, convincing Mr Sharpe he had something to live for.

The horror!

  1. Still think if pit bulls get to be legal bobcats ought to be too. 😉

  2. Well, was it really a pitbull or was the puppy actually a staffordshar (sp?) terrier, the breed from which the pitbull originated. Pitbulls are practically a different bred now, having been breed from the meanest of the mean for generations, whereas Staf. Terriers are bred from gentler stock. They look similar but have very different personalities. Now, pits, if raised right, can be very loyal dogs who are sweet with their owners, but you are still dealing with an animal that was bred for agression. Now, I was at the pound this week looking at a bull terrier pup, and out here better then 90% of the dogs at the pound were either pits (viscous pits) or chihuahuas, and those are viscious as well, maybe it’s a SoCal thing, but in those cases those animals need to be put down as they will never be able to be placed in a good home, and any home that takes them will just turn them into fighters again.

    • Just like the Pitbulls that belonged to Michael Vick could never be placed in a good home? Oh wait, most of them were rehabilitated and have done well in their new homes. I dunno, I’ve had more holes put into me by ‘docile’ breeds then any pitbull.
