the film rolls have to be stored horizontal !
Not necessarily, when I worked at the US Space and Rocket Center back in college they had an IMAX theater and usually they were stored flat, but sometimes they would store them that way to “loosen them up.” Old reals had a habit of binding if you didn’t allow gravity to pull them slightly apart, at least that is what the IMAX guys always told us.
