A few nights back I wandered off towards the nearby hill for a bit of excercise. One of the houses I passed has a really friendly, really big dog; she has a tendency to follow me on my walks. Damned if I know why… critters just seem to like me for some reason. Anyway, I took a few photos when I got to the end of my walk, looking off towards the east.

  1. my dog will do that…just follow people because it looks like they are doing something interesting. he does the same thing with cats…no hostility towards them, just thinks everything they do is interesting. the cats do not appreciate it LOL

  2. I think critters are your best photo subjects. You always are able to catch them in a completely unposed shot and it’s like you and the camera aren’t even there. The majority of cat pics I see usually have the cat looking at the camera, your’s are the opposite.

And when the critter is looking at you, you can see by the look in their eyes that they are comfortable around you.

With all the animal lovers out there there’s got to be a way to male some money using your talent with critters. The pano’s, astronomy and landscape shots are good, but there’s a lot of good one’s out there already

Maybe the Blog readers could come up with an idea

  3. The closeup demands a caption. The landscapes demand nice prints.

Critters like me. It’s humans that don’t. Dogs, cats, horses… domesticated – and even some undomesticated – critters have always followed me around. Perhaps I give off some pheromone that intrigues them. And scares the hell out of women. Shrug.

And nice prints demand money. I just paid my latest pack of bills. Guess who’s broke.

  5. Photo #2
    Out of “Wizards”:
“Master like Larry? Master _feed_ Larry?”
I think the dog has heard about the care the cats get at your hands, and is trying to shoehorn in on the operation, counting on a drooling smile being the key. 🙂

  6. So Scott… Are you saying you might smell funny?
