Oddly, whenever a “right winger” refers to the millions of illegal immigrants as “invaders,” that right winger is inevitably sneered at by the press. And yet… “invasion” is pretty much *exactly* what this jackhole is saying:

http://video.yahoo.com/watch/7165215/18659668

“Why is it that these people – these frail, racist white people – want to keep us out of this country? It’s not because simply the color of our skin, it’s not simply because they just want to exploit us, let me tell you why. Because on this planet right now, of six billion people, at the forefront of the revolutionary movement, is La Raza [translation – “The Race,” ie Hispanics/Latinos/whatever].”

“Our Commandante, Fidel Castro…”

“We see ourselves – all of us here – as the northern front of a Latin American revolutionary movement.”

“We are a culture of revolutionary spirt.”

“Our enemy is capitalism.”

Here’s the extra-fun part. This moron is a professor at UCLA.

So, yes, the debate about illegal immigration *is* deeply rooted in racism. But not the racism the press tends to bleat on about… instead the racism of La Raza, which seeks to overthrow the US government from within. “Frail white people” would not seem to have much of a role in these idiots vision of the future.

Send this link to everyone you know who gives a crap about the issue of illegal immigration. Especially those who think that Arizona is a racist Nazi state. Ask them to listen to “the professor” and suggest that they simply imagine the same speech coming out of a white guy, with a few changes in national/poitical/ethnic references, and see if they still agree with him.

  1. We certainly have permitted the creation and development of an aristocracy of the incompetent and the arrogant.

  2. Well on the one hand, they were definitely held longer than they should have been, and there are good reasons to put limits on the amount of time someone can spend in detention. On the other, it doesn’t sound like the holders really had much choice in the matter, and being forced to dump the illegals back in the streets in order to not violate the law is clearly not an option either.

Definitely Immigration and Customs enforcement should have had to pay the fine, not NYC, because it clearly wasn’t NYC’s fault that ICE was late. ICE should also be the ones to figure out a way to not violate the deadline. But it’s hard to argue with the fact that the guy really shouldn’t have spent a month in detention.

  3. Hmmm…aliens and sedition…where have I heard that turn of phrase before?:

  4. Fidel Castro would always be an icon of history evethough he is against the U.S.~;,

  5. Scott? Apparently you have a failed spambot in this thread. Another failure of the left, Grace, you can’t even spambot right, idiot.

  6. She never said he would be a positive icon.
