After the effort involved with working out the planform of the Senior Peg RCS model, here’s the end result. Top row shows the evolution of the B-2, from earliest sketch to final product; bottom row shows the two “Senior Peg” configurations. Configuration at left is highly speculative (even more so than the one on the right), based on a vague and essentially unsourced image that made the press some years back.

  1. Another image was from the March, 2005 issue of Popular Communications:

  2. …Scott, wouldn’t the tailfin on the bottom left concept work better if it were slanted a bit more? It seems a bit too perpendicular to the radar for a supposedly stealth concept.

  3. That’s about the angle they are at on the F-117.
The whole designs bears a resemblance to a scaled-up version of the naval F-117 concept, minus the horizontal fins: http://www.afwing.com/intro/f117/f117p92.jpg
This would make sense, as Ben Rich stated that their B-2 proposal owed a lot to the F-117’s design.
